Mr. Patterson has been involved in international education for the past fifteen years. In India, he has over ten years experience in leading programmes in IB schools such as Kodaikanal International School, the Canadian International School, TISB, and Ecole Mondiale World School. As a former DP Coordinator and Head of Secondary, he brings a wealth of experience to the KiiT International School IB Diploma Programme. Over the past year, Mr. Patterson has led the IBDP authorization procedures and is now ready with a qualified and experienced team of teachers to implement the IBDP in 2011-2012. Apart for school, he enjoys time with his family, sports, music, reading, outdoor activities and watching TED. |

Thomas Mathew: Head of IGCSE & IGCSE Biology |

Mr. Mathew has forty-two years teaching experience in GCE and IGCSE schools of which 38 years were in Malaysia and Brunei. In Brunei, Mr. Mathew was the Head of Science at the S.O.A.S. College, Bandar Seri Begawan. He was also the Chief Centre Supervisor for GCE Science Practical Examinations for the Ministry of Education, Brunei. In addition, he has also taught in IGCSE Schools in Thailand and Hyderabad. Mr. Mathew is trained in the Nuffield Foundation (U.K.) methods of teaching Science which is a practical oriented approach to teaching science subjects. In the first two examination years at KiiT International School, IGCSE students have secured outstanding results. |

Mr. Shyam Sunder joins KiiT International School from Sharjah Public School (a Cambridge University International Examinations Centre), Sharjah, the United Arab Emirates, where he headed the Department of English for over eight years and taught IGCSE and Advanced Subsidiary English Language and English Literature classes. He has a Masters in English Literature and has undergone several professional development programmes conducted by the University of Cambridge. He has a TESOL certification from Trinity College, London and is a qualified and highly experienced ESL trainer. He is also an effective motivational speaker and has conducted several HR development programmes both in India and in the Middle East. His track record of motivating learners and enabling them to enhance their academic and professional performance has been remarkable. He is an avid reader, a film buff, a sports enthusiast and loves to spend time with his family. |

Kalpana Singh: English as a Second Language (ESL) |

Mrs. Kalpana Singh started her career as a teacher because she loves being with students and helping them learn. Her career spans over two decades as an English teacher, which includes both national and international curriculums. Furthermore, she specializes in conducting English as Second Language (ESL) classes for students requiring additional support in developing their language skills. During her teaching tenure with the higher classes, she has also served as a CBSE examiner for the English Language paper.
Besides, her interest in teaching, her other passion is music. She has completed Grade VI of the Royal School of Music, London Examination, from the Calcutta School of Music. As a vocalist she frequently performs in many musical concerts and is an approved Western Music artist for the radio and TV. |

Coming from an extensive background in education, Ms. Ranjita Samal has been in the teaching profession for the past seventeen. Since joining KiiT International School two years ago, she has been trained and developed her skills as an international curriculum teacher of the IGCSE and IBDP curricula. Apart from the school, she enjoys spending time with her family. |

Ms. Basabi Chakraborty has done her Master’s Degree in teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language from the University of Alcala, Spain. She has also completed two more Master’s Degrees; one in Spanish Language and Literature and the other in Political Science. She has received her Diploma in Spanish Literature and in Applied Linguistics. She has lived and studied in Spain, Mexico and Cuba. She has taught Spanish in the Central Institute of English and Foreign Languages, Hyderabad. Before joining in KiiT International School, she was the HOD of Modern Foreign Languages in Pathways World School, Delhi and taught there for over 8 years. She is an IB experienced and trained teacher of Spanish and TOK and has attended many national and international conferences. |

Ms. Megha Saban joins KiiT International School with a strong academic background in Chemistry and is a Gold Medalist. She has been teaching for the past six years at St. Xavier’s, Jabalpur and Eklavya School, Ahmedabad. Previous to that, he headed the Science faculty at SelaQui World School, Dehradun where he taught IBDP Environmental Systems. He has also worked as a Research Assistant at the Department of Pure and Applied Biology, University of Wales, Cardiff, UK for four years and in Maldives where he taught GCE ‘O’ level Biology, and at Rajkumar College, Raipur where he taught ISC Biology. Mr. Narinder Sharma “Aditya” has been a professional in the performing arts field since 1990, both on and off stage. Previous posts include HOD of IBDP Film, MYP Drama and IBDP/MYP Photography at Indus International School of Hyderabad, MYP Drama and Photography Teacher in Oakridge International School, and A Level IGCSE English Teacher the Maldives. He has also taught in various colleges in India. He has organized various workshops as a creative director, actor trainer, and drama therapist and participated in various national and international theatre and film festivals. When he is not teaching or performing he enjoys cooking and travel. |

Mr. Singh has been involved with education, marketing, administration and publishing for over two decades with organisations of repute, both in India as well as in various countries throughout South East Asia. During this period, he has undertaken a wide angle of responsibilities under various capacities. His interest in career education led him to publish the Directory of Higher Education in India and the Career Track CD so that students could make wise decisions instead of educated guesses. Mr. Singh has played an active role in setting up career counselling departments and teacher training in many education institutions.
When not helping students with their future, Mr. Singh enjoys travelling, music and football. |
