KiiT International School is an international residential school for boys and girls offering Kindergarten, Primary and Secondary education. The school offers the National CBSE and International IGCSE currriculum and has registered for the IB Diploma curriculum. The school is also a part of the KIIT group of institutions which include a university with multiple faculties. The school is located in eastern India, in the state of Orissa, with students from all over India and abroad.
The residential facilities offer spacious, furnished and secure rooms for students : 2 to a room for seniors(std VI and above) and 4 to a room for Juniors (std V and below). There are attendants for Juniors to assist them for all their academic and co-curricular requirements, including meal time, bed time, break time, recreation time and play time. Breakfast , Lunch and Snacks are provided to all students and staff, and Boarders get an additional evening meal.
The emphasis is on completing all school work within the school day, and so Boarders and Day Boarders (Std. III onwards) stay on in school, after evening games, till 7.30 pm to complete school tasks and/or to do additional extension work in the form of worksheets.
Juniors [KG and Std I & II ] have a shorter day and have a rest time included in the afternoon. Seniors have a short activity period every day followed by team games in the evening. On Saturday there are high order thinking classes, remedial classes alongwith activities with various options ranging from Dance, Music, Art & Craft, to Debates and Quizzes.
The school has uniforms (General, PE, Sports dress & shoes) for daily use. For special occasions blazer is used in the uniform. The school follows the House System besides also awarding individual credits for positive achievement and community support. |
